Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held talks with Marcel Ciolacu, Prime Minister of Romania on 26 July 2024 in Bucharest where they discussed current topics of the Hungarian-Romanian bilateral relations. Viktor Orbán assured his Romanian partner that in autumn Hungary holding the rotating Presidency of the EU Council would put on the agenda the issue of Romania’s full admission into the Schengen zone. On 27 July 2024, the Hungarian Prime Minister took part in and held a speech at the 33rd Bálványos Summer Free University and Student Camp in Băile Tușnad (Tusnádfürdő).
