H.E. Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary held discussions with H.E. Oana Țoiu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania in Bucharest on November 25, 2025. Minister Szijjártó also attended the 7th session of the Romanian International Energy Conference (RIEC), where he had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Bogdan Ivan Minister of Energy of Romania.
At the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania it was emphasized that both parties strive for a pragmatic approach based on partnership and cooperation with the aim of fully realizing the potential of relations between the two countries.
Furthermore, they discussed the prospects of the Hungarian-Romanian bilateral dialogue alongside matters concerning the European Union and the current security situation. During the meeting with H.E. Bogdan Ivan Minister of Energy of Romania, it was stated from the Hungarian side that Romania has become a strategic partner to Hungary and substantially contributes to ensuring Hungary’s energy supply security.
During his visit, Minister Szijjártó met with Mr. Răzvan Burleanu, President of the Romanian Football Federation, with whom he talked about opportunities of cooperation.
