The V4 String Quartet concert took place on March 3, 2026, at the Liszt Institute in Bucharest, within the framework of the Hungarian V4 Presidency. The event was an event of the “Kurtág100” series; the quartet consisting of Miranda Liu, violin I (Hungary), Daniel Rumler, violin II (Slovakia), Tomáš Krejbich, viola (Czech Republic), and Bartosz Koziak, cello (Poland) performed all the pieces written for string quartet by the Hungarian composer György Kurtág. The concert hall of the institute was filled with members of the diplomatic corps and local music lover audience. The audience and the artists were welcomed by H.E. Ambassador Katalin Kissné Hlatki, who spoke briefly about the V4 presidency and the composer György Kurtág:
“… The V4 String Quartet promotes cultural interdependence between nations and passionately brings to life the diverse musical heritage of the region. … On July 1, 2025, Hungary took over the presidency of the Visegrad Group for the seventh time, the motto of which is: “Competitive Visegrad” - accordingly, the three priority areas of the presidency program are competitiveness, security and connectivity. Tonight, we will focus on the latter, connectivity, as the universal language of music connects us all. Tonight’s concert thus provides an opportunity to highlight our Central European identity, contributing to strengthening the relations between our countries. … “.
After the concert a reception took place, where the audience could meet the performers from the four countries.
