The Hungarian Embassy in Bucharest organized a national holiday reception on 22 October 2024, on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and War of Independence, with Clara Staicu, State Secretary for European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the Romanian guest of honor.

Following traditions, on 23 October, representatives of the Embassy and the Hungarian community in Bucharest laid wreaths of remembrance at the obelisk erected in honor of former Hungarian Prime Minister Imre Nagy and his companions in Snagov, the site of their imprisonment in Romania.
