On 13 May 2026, the Bucharest Nine (B9) held n summit with the participation of the heads of state and government of the Northern European NATO member states in Bucharest at the invitation of Romanian President Nicusor Dan and Polish President Karol Nawrocki, which was also attended by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and Thomas DiNanno, US Assistant Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Affairs.
Hungary was represented by Ambassador Katalin Kissné Hlatki, the Hungarian Ambassador in Bucharest. The B9 summit in Bucharest issued a joint statement.
