On November 29-30, 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó took part in the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Bucharest. The agenda of the NATO meeting also included the global effects of the war in Ukraine, the economic recession, the growing threat of terrorism and the energy supply crisis. With regard to the meeting, Minister Péter Szijjártó stated: NATO has strengthened its "open doors" policy, but it is clear that a given country can only join the military alliance if it does not endanger, but strengthens the security of the current member states.

 

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó was received in their offices by Minister of Development, Public Works and Administration Attila Cseke, Minister of Sports Eduárd Novák and Minister of Environment, Water and Forests Barna Tánczos before the NATO meeting in Bucharest. In connection with the meetings, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade expressed how proud we are that RMDSZ (UDMR) contributes to the stability of the Romanian government.

 

After the NATO meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó held a short bilateral meeting with Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, after which they signed a memorandum of understanding regulating cooperation between the Hungarian and Georgian foreign ministries.
