H.E. Mr. István Íjgyártó State Secretary for Cultural and Scientific Diplomacy had an official visit to Bucharest in the period of 7-8th Bucharest, 2017. During his saty he had conducted talks in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Romania, and handed over the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary to the Marian Cozma Association during a ceremony at the Embassy of Hungary.

Marian Cozma the handbal player of MKB Veszprém and the Romanian National Handbal Team was murdered in 2009 in Veszprém, Hungary. His father Petre Cozma founded a non-profit organization called „Marian Cozma Association” , with the purpose of offering the possibility to support the sport acrivity of talented disadvantaged children. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary offered a financial assistance worth of 10 million HUF (apr. 30 thousand euros) to the Marian Cozma Association. From this amount the Association plans to purchsae sport equipment for the children, that would enable them to participate at training camps, thus helping to fulfill the mission of the Association. H.E. Mr. István Íjgyártó State Secretary for Cultural and Scientific Diplomacy stated at the handing over the support: „ We have observed with great sympathy and respect the devoted work of the father which he dedicated to the preservation of the memory of his beloved son, by founding this Association with the scope of training children to learn the sport activities, the spirit of fair-play and non-violence and learn to respect others in general. With this financial support the Hungarian state can directly contribute to the preservation of the spirit of Marian Cozma in our countries. His memory will remain as a symbol of cooperation and friendship between our peoples eternally”.
